Established in 2018, Andrew S Johnson is a Nottingham-based lounge chair design company. Andrew collaborates with leading designers and distinguished brands to create iconic and exclusive pieces that will stand the test of time and become cherished family heirlooms.
Having completed the Prince’s Trust Enterprise programme, which supported him to set up the business, Andrew is also a proud ambassador for the programme.
When Andrew set up Andrew S Johnson, he started out with a very basic website. As the company grew, he decided it was time to invest in a more sophisticated platform and briefed a web design company accordingly. Unfortunately, things didn’t go to plan.
‘The new site just wasn’t working how I wanted it to,’ explains Andrew. ‘The site loading speed was slow, the mobile responsiveness was almost non-existent, and there was little or no SEO included in the initial build. So, whilst the site looked good and I was happy with the content and design, it was hard for people to find me online.
And when they did, the site didn’t provide a good user experience.’
Andrew first came across it’seeze Web Design Nottingham whilst browsing through LinkedIn. He noticed a post by Phil Revill that talked about how the design and functionality of contact forms on websites can improve conversion rates. Unhappy with his own, very basic contact form and keen to improve his online presence, Andrew got in touch.
‘There were quite a few issues with Andrew’s website that were holding it back,’ says Phil. ‘Visually, it looked great, but the way it had been designed meant it just couldn’t function in the way that Andrew wanted. The lack of basic SEO was also a big worry. I was confident that, taking the existing design and the copy Andrew had written, the it’seeze team could come up with something a lot better, at a competitive price.’
Delivery time was also important, as Andrew was conscious that his current website could be affecting his ability to generate leads and enquiries. The it’seeze technical and design teams rose to the challenge. Just a month or so later, Andrew’s new website – complete with all the features and functionality he was looking for – was ready to go.
Andrew comments: ‘Things moved really quickly once I’d given the go-ahead. However, although time was of the essence, I never got the feeling that things were being rushed or that there was any compromise in quality or attention to detail. The team listened to all my requirements and followed the brief to the letter.’

This solved the problems from the old site of large images taking a long time to load, whilst enabling customers to appreciate Andrew’s designs from all angles.
‘The advice and information from the it’seeze team was spot on,’ says Andrew. ‘The site build and launch went smoothly and I’m getting the hang of using the Website Editor to make changes to the site. If I have any questions or I’m not sure how to do something, Phil or a member of his team are always on hand to help me out.’
In time, Andrew is planning to upgrade from Plus to the it’seeze Max package, so he can add more pages and take advantage of the built-in blogging system and other powerful marketing and SEO features.
Finally, Andrew has a website that will do his business justice and which genuinely reflects his brand ethos and values. ‘The new site has turned out even better than I thought it would,’ he says. ‘It has a much smoother look and feel compared to the old one, plus all the functions and features that prospective clients will expect to see on the site. I’m especially pleased with the seamless integration with my social media pages – particularly Instagram, as this is a key marketing platform for me.’
Whilst it’s still early days for the new website, Andrew is confident that he’ll start to reap the benefits of enquiries, leads and sales before long. What’s more, the site will help with his work as a Prince’s Trust Young Ambassador, by demonstrating to investors what their support can help business owners to achieve.
