Driving Theory Workshop is the brainchild of Chris London, a qualified driving instructor who has run two successful driving schools and helped hundreds of learners pass their tests. Chris has also delivered many theory courses to private classes and through colleges – which gave him the idea of launching his own online course platform.

About Driving Theory Workshop

Driving Theory Workshop was duly launched in 2017 and now offers a range of courses. These have helped over 14,000 learner drivers in Great Britain and Northern Ireland to successfully pass both their theory and practical driving tests.

Background

Chris set up and still hosts the Driving Theory Workshop programmes on a specialist online course platform called Thinkific. However, this has limited capacity for adding extra pages such as About, Testimonials and Blog, which Chris was keen to make available to prospective learners as well as driving more organic traffic.

He decided to set up a second website for Driving Theory Workshop which would offer these extra pages whilst linking seamlessly to the Thinkific site. Chris initially designed the new web pages himself, but wasn’t happy with the look and feel. So, he turned to it’seeze Nottingham to design a professional-looking site that would tick all the boxes.

Chris comments: “I already knew Phil Revill and it’seeze Nottingham had designed and developed the website for my other business, a social media marketing company called Chris London Online, in 2021. So, it was a natural choice to approach Phil about my requirements for the Driving Theory Workshop site. I already had branding in place and had registered a .com domain, with the aim of connecting the new website seamlessly to the existing co.uk domain linked to the Thinkific site.”

Solution

Phil and Chris had a Zoom call in late January to discuss how the new Driving Theory Workshop site needed to look and the functionality that would be required. Chris provided the written content for the new web pages and explained the kind of imagery he wanted for the site, to guide the it’seeze design team in selecting the right images.

Says Chris: “The designers got to work and submitted their ideas, which I was very happy with on the whole. I did ask them to swap out a couple of the images they’d chosen and this was done very promptly within 24 hours. The revised design was just what I was looking for and creates a great first impression of the business for prospective learners.”

As a Max package user, Chris benefits from integrated social media buttons linking the Driving Theory Workshop website to his Facebook, Instagram and YouTube accounts. He has a range of optional extras he can add to the site in the future if he wishes, including embedded video and audio files, live chat, and integrations with a wide range of third party applications, such as MailChimp, Trustpilot and Eventbrite.

Process

The site was built using the it’seeze Max package, which offers an unlimited number of pages after the initial 10 have been created. There’s also a built-in blog, so Chris was able to start adding content as soon as the site went live in late February 2023. As he was already familiar with the it’seeze Website Editor, he didn’t need any further training on how to use it and was able to hit the ground running.

Chris was especially impressed with the quick turnaround from the it’seeze development team. “Everything happened pretty quickly after the initial call with Phil. Around 28 days later, I had a second Zoom call with him to finalise everything – and the site went live very soon after that. As always, the customer service and attention to detail provided by Phil and the it’seeze team were excellent. As well as being friendly and knowledgeable, they’re straightforward to work with and always on hand to answer my questions.”

Results

It’s early days for the new Driving Theory Workshop website, so it’s hard to assess the impact on course sales at this stage. However, with the fully-optimised and mobile-friendly site design, and Chris’ prowess at blogging and social media, it doubtless won’t be long before he starts to see tangible results from his investment.

I’m delighted with the quality of work provided by it’seeze Nottingham for both my websites,” concludes Chris. “I’ve known Phil from the local networking scene for several years and can personally vouch for his expertise and integrity. I’d be happy to recommend it’seeze Nottingham to any other local business looking for a new or refreshed website that offers a wealth of features and genuine value for money.”
