Case Study - Piped Up Property Maintenance Ltd
Posted on 23rd October 2018
Piped Up Property Maintenance Ltd offer a range of plumbing, heating, renewable energy and electrical services. Based in Shirland, Derbyshire, they work with homeowners, landlords, tenants, letting agents and small business owners across the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and beyond. The company was set up in 2016 by directors James Lee and Anthony Bennett who have a combined 40 years’ experience in the trade.
When Piped Up first started, they didn’t have a website. They initially relied on their Facebook page and face to face networking to bring in business, but soon realised they needed a stronger online presence. As luck would have it, James met it’seeze Web Design Nottingham consultant, Phil Revill, at a networking event towards the end of 2016.
“I asked around a bit and heard some great feedback about Phil and it’seeze from other business owners, so we decided to give them a try – and we never looked back!” says James. “As this was our first website for Piped Up, we weren’t really sure what we wanted or how the process worked. However, after meeting with Phil to discuss the site, we opted for the 5-page Lite package, which offers great value for money.”
A key part of the it’seeze approach is to design and develop unique websites that are a true reflection of each client’s individual brand. Phil and his team took the time to get under the skin of the Piped Up business so they could design a great-looking website that effectively showcases the company’s services and creates a strong first impression.
As part of this process, their preferences for site colours and imagery were discussed in detail so the it’seeze team could get the ‘look and feel’ spot-on for the new site.
Piped Up were keen for the site’s content to be as good as the design, so they also asked Phil to arrange for a professional copywriter to draft the wording for them. After an in-depth meeting, the copywriter created a site map which James and Anthony approved before the site’s five pages were written in line with the brief.
The tried and tested it’seeze ‘Four Steps’ process meant that the design and development of the new website went smoothly from start to finish – despite a few delays at the beginning.
“We did need a bit of prompting from Phil to get the content sorted, but this was always done in a polite and friendly manner,” comments James. “And once we’d met with the copywriter and the wording was in place, things moved pretty quickly and the site was up and running a few weeks later. It’s clear that it’seeze have a robust process in place to make sure projects don’t fall by the wayside – which could have happened to us as we’re so busy.”
As well as registering the domain and designing the site, it’seeze also set up and now manage new email addresses for each member of the Piped Up team. And once the site was in place, each page was fully optimised before being submitted to search engines. Finally, when James and Anthony were 100% happy, the new Piped Up website went live.
“The new website has made a big difference to our business,” says James. “After all, most people expect you to have a site these days, so they can check you out online before getting in touch. We’ve had numerous enquiries come through via the site and we’re also getting more emails. Being able to put the website and email addresses on our offline advertising materials has given us a boost, too.”
Of course, the it’seeze service didn’t come to an end once the site went live. The team are still on hand to provide any help and support the Piped Up team need going forward.
“We’ve been trained to update the site ourselves – which is really simple – but there’ll still be times when we need assistance,” explains James. “For example, we’re having a new page built about finance for boiler installations and other services, so we’ll need help from the design team and copywriter again."
“The great thing is that Phil and his team are always really responsive when we have a question or need any advice – and we can’t sing their praises highly enough.”
