About Mirra Mirra

Owned and run by husband and wife team, Andy and Lucy Trevelyan, Mirra Mirra provides a unique selfie photo experience for weddings, parties, proms, anniversaries and corporate events.

Their core product, the fully interactive touch-screen Magic Mirror Photo Booth, is packed with features such as quirky animations and voiceovers, and prints high quality images for partygoers and corporate guests to enjoy at the push of a button.

Background

Mirra Mirra originally had a Wix website, which was put together quite quickly when the business was launched in March 2018.

‘We just needed an online presence to get our names out there in the first instance,’ explains Andy.

But the site didn’t meet our needs beyond the very short-term as it didn’t create the professional, corporate impression we were looking for and we also struggled to get updates and changes made to the site.’

As a fellow member of 4Networking, Lucy had met Phil Revill from it’seeze Web Design Nottingham at numerous meetings. After his services were recommended to her by other members, Andy set up a meeting with Phil in October 2018 to discuss requirements for the new Mirra Mirra website.

‘We didn’t really look at any other providers as Phil came so highly recommended,’ says Andy.

‘At the time of our first meeting, Lucy and I still weren’t quite sure what we wanted, so we took some time out to think about it.
We also needed time to write the content for the site. Phil was very patient with us and offered some fantastic advice, which really helped.’

In spring 2019, Andy and Lucy’s ideas crystallised into a definite plan, which they briefed to the itseeze Nottingham team before giving the green light to design and build the site.

They decided to go with the itseeze Max package, an all-inclusive solution that provides everything they need to market and grow the Mirra Mirra business online.

The Development Process

Lucy and Andy had very clear ideas around how they wanted the new website to look. After the slightly amateurish design of their former site, they were very keen to create a much higher end and more professional look, to help them win more business from the corporate sector.

To further inform the brief, Andy sent over examples of other sites with a similar look and feel to that which he and Lucy wanted to achieve.

Andy comments:itseeze Nottingham have designed websites for other events companies in the past, which gave me confidence that they’d easily grasp what we were trying to get at in the brief. And I have to say, they followed it to the letter, even though it wasn’t a straightforward job.

Through the consultation and development process, I was very impressed by the quality of advice and attention to detail from Phil and his team.’

With content and images supplied by Mirra Mirra, the itseeze Nottingham team designed and built the new website in around three months and the site went live in summer 2019.

The Results

Mirra Mirra now has a slick, professionally designed website that provides a much truer reflection of their business than the old Wix site. The new site has been designed to be helpful and educational rather than salesy, which means Lucy and Andy can confidently refer new customers to it to find out more about what they have to offer.

I really feel the new website makes us stand out from the crowd and Lucy and I are very happy with it,’ says Andy. ‘We’re already starting to get enquiries on the strength of the new site, which is a fantastic result when it’s still early days. The itseeze website editor is very intuitive with a built-in Help Wizard, which makes it very easy to use and gives us the control over site content that we were looking for.'

‘We also have the reassurance of knowing that the site is backed up regularly and the itseeze team are always on hand to help if we need them. We now have an excellent, high quality website which we’re both very proud of, and which represents great value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Phil and his team – and have already done so.’

Next Steps

Now that the new site is up and running, Lucy and Andy are working on optimising the site. Whilst they’re doing the work themselves, it’seeze are providing ideas and guidance to help with the process.

Andy is also working with the development team to integrate a new booking system into the site, which is expected to go live very soon.
